Serving Up Exclusivity: Austin's New Members-Only Pickleball Club

Austin welcomes the Other Racquet Social Club, a members-only pickleball facility that marries the charm of country clubs with the rapidly growing sport of pickleball. The club boasts three tournament-standard courts, luxurious cabanas, a clubhouse, and a private dining area. As pickleball's popularity surges in the U.S., this club, opening its doors on Friday, offers a unique blend of exclusivity and sport, catering to the city's enthusiastic pickleball community.

The club's founding memberships kick off at a one-time fee of $2,500, granting members the privilege to invite an unlimited number of guests to the expansive 30,000-square-foot space. The club's future plans are equally ambitious, with a 20,000-square-foot public expansion in the pipeline, set to feature food trucks from local favorites like NADC Burger and B Cooper Barbecue. Matt Wolski, the principal of the design firm Pursuit Concepts, expressed the club's vision, stating, "We wanted to create something that doesn't quite exist yet in Austin." The club's design, rather than adapting an existing space, was conceptualized from the ground up, starting with the courts.

Austin's pickleball scene has witnessed significant growth, with numerous courts springing up across the city. Investment in the sport is evident, with entities like the Austin-based Major League Pickleball, which now boasts 24 teams with celebrity ownership. Many of these teams' players hone their skills at Dreamland's 16 courts located in Dripping Springs. As for the Other Racquet Social Club, it's set to operate from 7 am to 11 pm daily, offering members an exclusive space to indulge in their pickleball passion.
