Update: PickleCon 2024 A Celebration of Pickleball in Kansas City

Triple Crown Sports, renowned for its 40-year event experience, is gearing up for the grand celebration of pickleball with PickleCon, scheduled from Aug. 8-11, 2024, at the Kansas City Convention Center. This event promises to be bigger and better than ever!

While the event will showcase space for over 60 vendors and more than 100 pickleball courts, there's so much more in store. PickleCon is not just a tournament; it's an immersive pickleball experience. From beginners to seasoned competitors, everyone will find something to pique their interest. The event will feature local tournaments, camps, clinics, pro interactions, panel discussions, educational sessions, and a plethora of community-based activities. Alyssa Morrison, the PickleCon director, emphasized, "There’s something for everyone.”

Kansas City, with its central location and diverse attractions, is the chosen hub for this grand event. The city's passion for pickleball is evident, and as Kathy Nelson, president and CEO of Visit KC, pointed out, they are thrilled to partner with Triple Crown Sports for this unique event.

PickleCon's economic impact is also noteworthy. The event is projected to infuse an additional $3.9 million into the Kansas City economy. To put this into perspective, the volleyball preseason national invitation tournament in February attracted over 20,000 attendees, generating an estimated $13.1 million in economic impact.

The sport of pickleball itself has seen exponential growth. A report by the Association of Pickleball Professionals estimates a whopping 36.5 million annual players. The sport's allure? Kelli Alldredge, president of Chicken N Pickle, believes it's the human connection. "People put down their cell phones. They’re interacting, laughing... that’s the power of pickleball," she shared.

Chicken N Pickle, which was honored as the Small Business of the Year in 2022, has witnessed the sport's rapid growth since its inception in North Kansas City in 2016. They recently opened their eighth location in Glendale, Arizona, and have plans to expand to 15 locations by February 2025.

For those eager to stay updated, pickleball enthusiasts can sign up for more PickleCon information as it unfolds. With the event's magnitude and the excitement building up, PickleCon 2024 is set to be a landmark event in the world of pickleball.
