Pickleball's Grand Slam: Arizona's Mega Facility Plans Revealed

Scottsdale, Arizona is positioning itself as a premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts worldwide with the announcement of a new facility by PURE Pickleball. Planned to sprawl across an 11-acre area near the Talking Stick Resort & Casino, this facility is set to become one of the largest dedicated pickleball venues globally, with an opening slated for fall 2024. It will also serve as the official headquarters and training center for USA Pickleball, solidifying the sport's growing stature in the United States.

The project, a venture between PURE Pickleball and Caliber, a local real estate manager and developer, is a testament to the surging demand for the sport. With financial details under wraps, the excitement builds around what is promised to be a state-of-the-art complex. Phase 1 of the development will feature 28 oversized indoor courts equipped with advanced court technology, private gating, and video setups for match streaming. The planned "Championship Court" is particularly noteworthy—a 500-seat stadium designed to broadcast high-stakes matches to a wider audience.

As the project unfolds in subsequent phases, plans include adding 16 outdoor courts with professional lighting, a clubhouse with dining facilities, rooftop courts, and a gym. The ambitious expansion reflects pickleball's skyrocketing popularity, further fueled by Major League Pickleball's recent merger with the PPA Tour and a $50 million investment boost. This development is set not only to enhance the local sports infrastructure but also to amplify pickleball's professional scene, potentially making Arizona the heart of pickleball's competitive circuit.
