Agassi and Graf Set a New Rule in Love and Pickleball
When Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf step onto a pickleball court, it’s never as opponents. The legendary tennis couple, who collectively own 30 Grand Slam titles, have swapped backhands for dinks in their post-tennis lives — but only as a team. As Graf puts it, “We don’t play pickleball against each other. We prefer to be on the same side of the court.” Since picking up paddles during the pandemic, the two have embraced pickleball with passion, playing together three times a week, competing in events like the Pickleball Slam, and even promoting the sport globally.
The shift from tennis to pickleball has been more than recreational. The Agassi-Graf household in Las Vegas has become a mini-hub for pickleball practice and casual barbecues. While Andre still occasionally hits the tennis court, it’s pickleball that now dominates their shared activity schedule. Agassi notes that the sport’s community spirit and rapid learning curve make it both accessible and rewarding, especially as younger players continue to join the fold. Their love for the game has even taken them international, with trips to Asia to grow the sport’s popularity.
Off the court, the pair stays busy with philanthropic work. Graf’s foundation supports traumatized children and families in Germany, while Agassi focuses on transforming education through his Las Vegas charter school and broader initiatives. Even as Agassi steps into the role of Laver Cup Team World Captain, it’s clear that for this power couple, pickleball isn’t just a game — it’s become a way of life. And unlike tennis, the scoreboard between them will always read: one team, zero rivals.
